More than "Just a Notary"

Education

  • Certificate in Accounting ~ Tunxis Community College, Farmington CT
  • I am working toward my A.S. in Business Management, Accounting

Work Experience

  • 17 years' experience as an Administrative Assistant, allows me to multi-task on several projects at once.
  • Advanced computer skills, with expertise using Microsoft Office products and company-developed programs.
  • After going to the local bank several times per week for business-related notary services, I became a Notary Public in 2003. I started as a Signing Agent soon after researching the duties and learning what that entails. This training and work has allowed me to gain experience in this field. I have studied the CT Notary Handbook and have researched the statutes pertaining to notaries to ensure I am competent to perform my duties as commissioned. I firmly believe in continuing education and stay informed about changes within the industry.
  • I have successfully completed more than 750 loan signings for dozens of lenders, title/escrow companies and signing services.
  • I provide complete professional notary services, including Oaths, Affirmations, Acknowledgements and Affidavit Jurats.
  • I have experience with motor vehicle affidavits, living will notarizations, unclaimed property forms, domestic partnership forms and other employer/healthcare forms requiring notarization including pension requests and 401(k) rollover forms.
  • I also perform field inspections for Mortgage and Insurance companies, including Exterior, Interior and Drive-By reports with or without sketches.
  • In connection with my Full-time work, I have been promoted to Fleet Manager overseeing vendors, drivers and maintenance mechanics for a fleet of about 1500 mobile offices. Part of my duties include customer service, root cause analysis of damages as well as identifying defect trends, and identifying cost saving measures for routine maintenance. I am also charged with branch safety measures including identification of risks and prevention measures.

Special Skills

  • I have 4 computers connected to a broadband wireless network, including 2 laser printers with dual-tray capabilities.
  • I am able to download and print documents in all formats (Swiftview, Adobe, elynx, dtprint/dtview, etc.)
  • I make it a practice that if I accept an assignment I will get the job done.
  • I know a few notaries in this business, and if there is an assignment that I cannot do, I will pass on another qualified notary's name and/or contact information, saving you the time of finding an experienced notary to fulfill your order. I only network with those who have a solid reputation in this field and that I know to have the same integrity, commitment and competency as myself.

Hobbies/Other Interests

  • I taught myself HTML coding and have both created and maintain the website for The Junior Women's Club of Bristol, Inc, a chapter of Connecticut Junior Women, Inc. CJW is a state-wide 501(c)3 non-profit organization with more than 50 local chapters. I have served in the Bristol Chapter as Secretary, Vice President and Co-President, as well as chairing the Current Affairs, Conservation, Newletter, Publicity and Leadership departments. I have also served on the CJW State Board as Publicity chair.
  • Projects I initiated include: toiletries to local battered women's shelter, Mother's Day gift bags to local battered women's shelter, volunteers for CPTV's televised auction, donation of phone cards for veterans/current military through VFW's Operation Uplink, ongoing fundraising through links on website to Amazon.com and iGive.com. I've also organized club fundraisers at CJW Conferences.
  • I enjoy gardening, including landscaping and design.
  • I taught myself to crochet and to knit. I have created several afghans and have created several hundred crocheted magnets for fundraising activities.
  • I have always been motivated to learn. In high school, I took British Literature as an Independent Study course. I worked PT throughout high school, starting at age 15. I have always worked hard to excel at whatever I take on. I have a very strong work ethic and have often held multiple jobs at the same time.
  • I enjoy scrapbooking.
  • I teach age 3 Sunday School. I plan each lesson to include our memorization verse for the year, a weekly story, and related craft(s). A favorite each year is the walls of Jericho lesson, where we build a wall with cardboard bricks, form a marching band and go around the wall, then the kids get to take turns knocking down the wall. They all have a blast!
